Mena Edwards, MSW, Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), believes that no one should face life’s challenges alone. She earned her Master of Social Work from Lewis University and has three years of experience providing therapy and crisis care for children, adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults. Mena specializes in stress management, depression, anger management, anxiety, life changes/adjustments, and trauma/PTSD, creating a warm and supportive space where clients feel heard and in control of their healing journey.
Mena understands that anger is often the easiest emotion for children to express, but beneath it lies a wide range of feelings. Through play therapy and practical strategies, she helps children and families uncover what’s really going on and develop healthier ways to cope. When working with clients experiencing depression, she recognizes that it doesn’t always look the same—sometimes it’s exhaustion, other times it’s just going through the motions. She helps clients explore their emotions, identify triggers, and regain a sense of control. For those struggling with anxiety, Mena encourages challenging intrusive thoughts and focusing on what can be controlled, offering tools to reduce worry and build resilience.
Using a person-centered, strength-based approach, Mena tailors therapy to each client’s needs, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. She believes therapy should move at the client’s pace, offering a space that is open, respectful, and judgment-free. From the start, she wants clients to know that therapy is a journey, and the process isn’t always linear—but they don’t have to go through it alone.
Outside of therapy, Mena loves practicing mindfulness, spending time with her three cats—Smokey, Marley, and Tiana—and indulging in all things Disney.
