Meet Khadeejah, a Licensed Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois. She enjoys working with individuals and families, particularly children and teens ages 6 to 18. Her areas of specialization include LGBTQ+, Life Changes/Adjustments, Race/Social Justice/Equality, ADD/ADHD, Anger Management, Anxiety, Body Image, Depression, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders, OCD, Religious/Spiritual, Self- Esteem/Self Worth, Sexual Difficulties, Stress Management, Trauma/PTSD, and Women’s Issues.
Khadeejah values creating a comfortable atmosphere for clients to feel safe speaking their truth in sessions. She tailors her treatment approach to each client, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. In sessions with children, Khadeejah incorporates the use of art, such as hands-on crafts. Her clinical experience with children and families, coupled with her empathy and social justice focused care, allow Khadeejah to meet clients where they are.
For Khadeejah, all parts of her identity have influenced her life, and she recognized at a young age the need for better access to mental health services. She values the opportunity to be a resource for others, particularly those with whom she shares similarities in identity traits. In her free time, Khadeejah enjoys spending time with her cat named Edward, playing games, watching movies, and playing soccer.
